  • Internal Chase transfer: Instant, if you submit it on a business day before 4:30 PM ET. 
  • External transfer: Funds are typically available within 1 to 3 business days.

Frequently asked questions about cash transfers

No, we don't charge a fee. Your external bank may assess a fee to transfer cash. You should verify any fees with them prior to initiating the cash transfer request.

 

Additionally, while J.P. Morgan doesn’t charge a fee for cash transfers, there may be fees associated with the products and services related to your account. To learn more, please refer to our Guide to Investment Services and Brokerage Products (PDF).

Cash transferred from your Chase bank and investment accounts will be available to trade immediately upon processing.

 

Cash transferred from external bank and investment accounts is subject to standard holding times. Sign into your account to learn more. 

To confirm that the transfer was posted to your account, go to your “Brokerage transfer activity” and check the transaction status. We’ll also email you once we’ve completed your transfer.

You can view and edit, pause or cancel your repeating transfers to your investment accounts by following these steps:

  • Chase.com: Pay & Transfer > Transfer money > Transfer activity > Brokerage transfers > Repeating transfers
  • Chase Mobile® app: Pay & Transfer > See activity > Brokerage transfers > All transfer activity > Brokerage transfers > Repeating transfers

The IRS sets annual contribution limits for Roth IRAs and Traditional IRAs. For 2024, the annual maximum is $7,000 if you are under the age of 50, or $8,000 if you are 50 or above. Learn more
