    What is Chase Purchase Protection?

    Chase credit cards come with numerous cardmember benefits, and Purchase Protection is typically one of them. It protects against damage, theft or loss of eligible retail purchases made using a Chase credit card or Ultimate Rewards® points, within the first 120 days of purchase. While the specific amounts and items covered by Purchase Protection vary from card to card, most Chase branded or co-branded cards contain this benefit in some form.

    What and who is included in Chase Freedom Purchase Protection coverage?

    Many items purchased with a Chase credit card are covered against damage, theft or loss.

    • Qualifying items: Eligible purchases of personal property made both within and outside the U.S. are covered by Purchase Protection if purchased using your Chase Freedom card or rewards points.
    • Qualifying harm: Qualifying items are covered for the first 120 days after purchase.
      • Damage: The cost to repair or replace recent purchases that are damaged, such as electronics.
      • Theft: The cost to replace stolen items 
      • Lost: involuntary and accidental parting when the location of property is known, but recovery is impractical
    • Qualifying individuals: The cardmember is covered for their purchases, purchases by authorized users or purchases made by the cardmember as gifts for others.

    What is excluded from Chase Freedom Purchase Protection coverage?

    Not every item or situation qualifies for a Purchase Protection claim, including:

    • Antiques and collectibles
    • Used and pre-owned items
    • Vehicle purchases including automobiles, motorcycles, aircraft, boats, jet skis, etc.
    • Items purchased for commercial, professional, or resale purposes
    • Software
    • Perishable or consumable items

    How do I file a claim for Chase Purchase Protection?

    You can file claims online at www.eclaimsline.com or by calling the number on the back of your card. Please note that you need to notify the Benefit Administrator of the loss, theft, or damage within 90 days of the incident. You also must submit all required documentation, including completed and signed claim forms, within 120 days of the incident.

    Chase Freedom cards

    There are three distinct Chase Freedom cards to choose from, each with its own unique benefits: Chase Freedom Rise, Chase Freedom Unlimited®️ and Chase Freedom Flex®.

    Chase Freedom Unlimited and Chase Freedom Rise℠

    • Chase Freedom Unlimited and Chase Freedom Rise each offer Purchase Protection of up to $500 per claim, $50,000 per account.
    • Extended Warranty Protection adds an additional year of coverage to eligible U.S. warranties of three years or less.
    • Additional related benefits on the card include Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance, 24/7 fraud monitoring and auto rental theft and collision coverage.

    Chase Freedom Flex

    • Chase Freedom Flex offers Purchase Protection of up to $500 per claim, $50,000 per account on all qualifying purchases, except cell phones.
    • Additionally, the card offers $800 per claim and $1,000 per year of cell phone protection for phones on monthly cell phone bills paid with your Freedom Flex card. This benefit allows a maximum of two claims per 12-month period and requires a $50 deductible per claim.
    • Additional related benefits on the card include one year of Extended Warranty Protection coverage, Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance and 24/7 fraud monitoring.
