Course: What is credit?

6 minute read

As time goes by, the neighborhood changes. The dress shop is replaced by a hip boutique. The camera store is sold, and a music store opens in its place. Sidewalks are improved. New restaurants and bars open nearby.

Meredith sees potential for the coffee shop, but the owners have their eyes on retirement. While she’s already taken over most of the tasks of running the shop and they’ve hinted at her buying them out, Meredith finds the idea daunting.

Her largest purchase to date was her car, which she bought with cash.

How would she get the funds to purchase the business and keep it running? How could she afford to remodel the space, maintain vendor relationships and pay employees?

Meredith decides to get some advice.
