25 Trips to Take in 2025
While it may feel most comfortable to go somewhere familiar, one of travel’s greatest pleasures is discovering something new. And you’re in good company if you’re looking to explore a new destination next year. There are a number of interesting trends driving travel bookings for 2025, including a few places—or regions in perennially popular spots—that may not yet be on your list.
Greenland
Nuuk, Greenland
United Airlines made headlines this year when it announced its 2025 international expansions, including seasonal service to Nuuk, Greenland (GOH), marking the first time U.S. travelers will be able to visit Greenland without an international stop.
United’s new flight to Nuuk will arrive from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in just four hours, making Greenland a reasonable destination for a long-weekend getaway—filled with all-day sunlight in the summer, whale watching, fishing and iceberg harvesting.
Still, exploring Greenland can take some effort. Consider new cruise itineraries from HX (formerly Hurtigruten Expeditions) and Silversea to help you get started. Or, for a true long-haul adventure, book a special three-month sailing on Viking, which will go from Greenland to Antarctica when it launches in September, with stops in Canada and Chile along the way, among others.

Morocco
Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco
Greenland isn’t the only exciting destination that just got easier to reach: United Airlines recently launched nonstop service from Newark to Marrakech, Morocco (RAK)—joining existing nonstop Royal Air Maroc flights to Casablanca from several cities in the U.S.
The country is eager to welcome travelers back following a devastating earthquake in 2023, with exciting new hotels (including Royal Mansour, which opened its Casablanca outpost in 2024), emerging neighborhoods and burgeoning art scenes providing plenty of reasons to visit destinations like Casablanca, Marrakech, Tamuda Bay and Tangier.

Thailand
Wat Arun in Bangkok, Thailand
It’s no secret that the third season of the popular series “The White Lotus” is set in Thailand. Travelers are already booking 2025 trips to the show’s host country, where top resorts like the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui and the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas will play starring roles.
If you end up wanting to extend your stay, know that Thailand recently made it easier to stick around—the country’s new expanded visa-free program allows visitors to stay for 60 days, up from 30.
