Looking for more from Miami? Plan the perfect trip with hotel picks and itineraries from the editors at Chase Travel, and top restaurants from The Infatuation.
Beyond its perma-sunny beaches and ocean temperatures that hover comfortably between balmy and bathwater, Miami is, at its heart, a hotel city. Joining the ranks of the Art Deco landmarks that line Collins Avenue are a slew of new and reimagined luxury properties, each of which appeals to a different kind of traveler. Consider one of the hotels below for your next trip to Miami, whether you’re looking for eco-minded amenities, Old Hollywood glamour or buzzy global cuisine. (Photo courtesy of 1 Hotel South Beach).

Faena Miami Beach

More is more at Argentine hotelier Alan Faena’s unabashed ode to maximalism—starting with the museum-worthy art collection, which includes showstoppers like Damien Hirst’s Gone but Not Forgotten, a gilded woolly-mammoth skeleton encased in a glass box en route to the beach, and ending with the live-fire asado experience at Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann.
Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, Surfside, Florida

Opened on New Year’s Eve 1930, the oceanfront Surf Club has been a magnet for royals and Hollywood stars from the very beginning. Don’t miss the eponymous restaurant, chef Thomas Keller’s first in the state, which serves the kind of continental classics that those early bigwigs would’ve loved.
Mayfair House Hotel & Garden

Reopened in 2022 after a $50 million renovation, this hotel is so overflowing with tropical vegetation that it looks like the building has been left to nature. The botanical blitz doesn’t stop there: jungle-themed murals back the pool by the rooftop rum bar, and in the jewel-tone guest rooms, claw-foot bathtubs cozy up to other quirky touches, including record players and even a piano.
The Miami Beach EDITION

Fans of hotelier Ian Schrager will recognize all his hallmarks here—an iconic spiral staircase, tons of potted palms—but there are plenty of nods to Miami too, like oceanfront bungalows with private plunge pools and a restaurant from Jean-Georges Vongerichten that draws flavor inspiration from Latin America, Spain and the Caribbean. For fun out of the sun, check out the neon-lit Basement Bowl & Skate, which has a four-lane bowling alley and indoor ice-skating rink.
The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami

You’re officially on island time at this hideaway on Key Biscayne, a family-friendly strip south of Miami Beach known for its historic lighthouse, state parks and windsurfing spots. And when the time for proper R&R arrives, there’s a full-service rum bar and a spa with treatments informed by the Indigenous Tequesta people.
The Setai Miami Beach

Spanning The Setai’s two buildings—the original 1930s Dempsey-Vanderbilt hotel and a glittering new tower—you’ll find three pools (each one is set to a different temperature), a restaurant that serves a signature Peking duck and an elegant bar that whips up wasabi martinis.
The Standard Spa, Miami Beach

With its Turkish-style hammam, infinity pool and hemlock sauna, it’s not hard to see why the spa is the main event. But the rooms, some of which have outdoor soaking tubs, and the waterfront restaurant, where you can nibble on raw-bar delicacies in the sun, are hardly second-best.
The building is LEED Silver certified, the house Audi is electric and salvaged driftwood features heavily in the decor—all thoughtful details we can get behind. Other ones we like? The rooftop pool, the kitted-out Bamford Wellness Spa and the plant-based cuisine at Plnthouse.
Set amid the high-rises of Brickell, EAST offers a slightly less high-octane counterpoint to party-hard Miami Beach. Head up to the 40th floor to grab a drink with a view at Sugar, which is centered around a hand-carved Balinese bar made of reclaimed oak.
This village-like complex of Spanish-Mediterranean buildings on Española Way was built in the 1920s as an artist colony, and Desi Arnaz was known to play rumba here. Don’t miss Sundowner Happy Hour at The Drexel, its on-site restaurant—there are smoky, charcoal-grilled appetizers and $10 cocktails to chase them with.
Given its pedigree—owned by the Cipriani family of restaurateurs, who are best known for founding Harry’s Bar in Venice—it’s hardly surprising that the F&B at this glossy boutique hotel is a major draw. At the house restaurant, which takes its name from the Bellini (a drink invented at Harry’s), you can hobnob over orders of crudo, carpaccio and refreshing salads.
In a sea of flashy Art Deco divas, this prim 1942 mainstay’s “Florida-Georgian” style is the mashup you didn’t know you needed. Behind its stately columns and shutters, rooms are unfussy and bright, with colorful accent walls and black-and-white photos, and the family-owned property is known for its CEOs (canine executive officers), whom you might meet during a stay. (Your own dogs are welcome, too.)
This dream-team collaboration between Pharrell Williams and hospitality giant David Grutman is all about whimsy, with pink-and-white-striped cabanas, jaguar-print robes and even carts doling out free ice cream. DJs preside over pool parties, there’s an indoor-outdoor gym and yoga classes are offered on the beach right outside.
