Finally, a good reason to arrive 3 hours before your flight: Boston's Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club
Chase Travel
Getting to the airport early often means watching the minutes tick by at the gate, but you're a savvy traveler with a Chase Sapphire Reserve card, and on your next trip through Boston's Logan International Airport (BOS) you'll be enjoying restaurant-quality dishes and custom cocktails at the Chase Sapphire Lounge.
Where to find the lounge
Located between gates B39 and B40, the 11,640-square-foot Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is directly connected to gates in terminals B, C, E, making it easy to get to most gates.
Seating and amenities
Divided into multiple seating areas, the lounge is spacious, with plenty of natural light and artworks curated by the JPMorgan Chase & Co. private art collection. In the evenings, accent lighting transforms the lounge into a space that feels more like an upscale restaurant or the sprawling lobby of a high-end hotel.
You'll find two shower rooms, a nursing suite and restrooms, all stocked with products from APOTHEKE, a Brooklyn-based fragrance label. From the massage chairs and relaxation rooms to the dining room, large bar and clear views of the airplanes below, there's plenty to keep you entertained before takeoff. Grab a window seat or solo pod and use the free, speedy Wi-Fi (yes, it's fast enough to download movies for the plane), or snag one of the booths and catch up on some work before you board.
What you're eating and drinking
You can expect more than your typical domestic lounge fare here—menu items like beef with sesame rice and a maple orange glaze, or chicken scarpariello with pork sausage and just-spicy-enough cherry peppers are more in line with what you'd order at a restaurant you'd actually choose to visit (read: not while you're in at the airport).
There are a mix of ready-to-eat options at the self-serve counter, like smoked salmon plates and French toast at breakfast or hummus on tomato focaccia and a burrata-and-tomato salad at lunch and dinner. But you can also scan the QR code at your table to get made-to-order dishes delivered to you. Look out for signature items like the egg-and-cheese bao bun in the morning and the Sapphire burger and fries (served on brioche with tomato confit and pickle chips) in the afternoon and evening.
You'll also find items from local chef Douglass Williams (of Boston's MIDA and APIZZA), which may be updated seasonally along with other rotational items on the menu. At the moment, a special Williams-led breakfast menu includes a crisp mozzarella pupusa, made with masa corn flour and served with cabbage-chile Curtido relish and salsa roja.
As you think to yourself, "wow, the food is actually good here," you can snack on Williams' hearty meatball parm sandwich (with garlicky San Marzano tomato sauce and melted provolone) or plates of cacio e pepe fried ravioli. If you're craving something a bit lighter, try the chicken souvlaki salad, plated to order with pita, tzatziki, tomato, romaine lettuce and an oregano vinaigrette.
Nothing helps you pass the time faster than a glass of sparkling wine or a pint of IPA. You can scan the QR code to have beverages delivered with (or without) your à la carte meal. But we recommend swinging by the taproom or grabbing a seat at the bar.
Ask the bartender to whip up an item from the custom cocktail menu while you wait to board.
Like the food, drinks are subject to change, but perennial favorites include the Signature Sapphire Cocktail, a mix of gin or vodka, blueberry, goldenberry, ginger, five-spice powder and bee pollen, which can also be found at other Sapphire Lounges, and the La Puerta, which offers a spin on the margarita, with mezcal, Grand Marnier, lime, agave and a black lava-salt rim. There are more locally inspired cocktails, too. Made with Japanese whiskey, local honey and sage, the Forest Flavor is "a nod to the beautiful foliage of Massachusetts," according to the menu.
The lounge also offers a range of local beers—there's Samuel Adams, as you'd expect for a Boston establishment, along with options from lesser-known local producers, such as the Left of the Dial IPA (from Salem, MA's Notch Brewing) or Harpoon's Southie Lager. You can also choose from a wide variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including soft drinks, cold brew and spa water, available at refrigerators and dispensers near your seat.
