    Valhalla Golf Club is located at 15503 Shelbyville Road, about 20 miles east of downtown Louisville. Members and member guests are able to play the course at Valhalla.

    What kind of grass is at Valhalla Golf Club?

    Valhalla Golf Club underwent a significant renovation starting in August of 2021. During the renovation, 1,313,500 square feet of Zeon Zoysia grass was transported from Soperton, GA and installed on the course.

    • Cosmetic work around the property
    • Three new championship tees constructed on holes 1, 12 and 14

    1. “The Post”: Begins with a challenge thanks to a 495-yard dogleg left par 4
    2. “Winning Colors”: Lined with Kentucky hardwoods
    3. “Honest Abe”: Named after the only president to come from Kentucky
    4. “Mine That Bird”: Players may be tempted with a tee shot thanks to the short par 4, but significant contours make things difficult
    5. “The Sun Shines Bright”: The only hole without a tree
    6. “Long Shot”: One of Valhalla’s most difficult holes that demands an accurate tee shot
    7. “Genuine Risk”: Has a split fairway for a risk vs. reward approach
    8. “Float Like a Butterfly”: The elevated green makes for a difficult hole, even for seasoned players
    9. “Twin Spires”: Features an uphill par 4 bordered by three fairway bunkers for an added challenge
    10. “Big Red”: Named after the famous racehorse, Secretariat

    17. “Straight Up”: As the name suggests, players must hit a straight shot to avoid bunkers on the left and right
    18. “Photo Finish”: Most players can reach this hole in two if they avoid the bunker guarding the front of the green

    Valhalla Golf Course and the 2024 PGA Championship
