Frequently asked questions
As your mortgage servicer, we have financial interest in your home and need to make sure it’s restored to the condition it was in immediately before it was damaged.
We’ll mail your initial disbursement check (or have the funds deposited into your Chase personal account) within three business days of processing your insurance claim check. Please refer to the Insurance Claim Package for more details.
Yes. If you’d like to have funds sent to an address other than the one we have on file, complete the Authorization to Mail Funds to Alternate/ Temporary Address found at the back of the Insurance Claims Package and return it to us.
We want to make sure that the repairs are being completed and progressing according to schedule. Releasing the funds in separate payments also helps prevent contractor fraud.

Let us know. For current loans, we'll release the amount that exceeds your unpaid balance in addition to the first disbursement of insurance claim funds.
If you want to use the funds to pay off your balance (including unpaid fees and interest) you can get a payoff quote at chase.com/payoff or call 1-800-848-9136 to see if the claim funds will payoff the amount. Then complete this insurance claim form (PDF) requesting us to use the claim funds to pay off your loan balance.
These funds are intended to repair your home to a condition that is as good (or better) than it was immediately before your property was damaged and cannot be applied to your past-due balance.
Send us a copy of legal documentation showing your full name (first, middle and last), along with your insurance claim check, or bring them into a Chase branch.
